I used to love playing the game 1942 when I was growing up, so I’ve been a huge fan of these types of games for a long time. I’m always excited to try out different variations of a genre I enjoy, so Aces of the Luftwaffe was a game I wanted to dive right into.
Aces of the Luftwaffe puts players in the pilot seat during World War II and sends them straight into bullet-hell action. This vertical shooter offers plenty of challenge with its short, three stage campaign. Each stage features 3 missions and one boss battle, and I have to say, it’s the fairly enjoyable bosses that make the game worth playing.
The story says, It is the darkest hour for England. The Axis are sending their best into the Battle of Britain, and only a handful of brave pilots are left to destroy them. Get into your war plane and don’t let go of the trigger before each and every enemy has been blown out of the skies! But even if you vanquish the notorious Aces of the Luftwaffe, are you prepared to take the fight to the mainland?
As players go through each mission, they’ll collect medals to upgrade one of their two planes. They’ll need these medals to unlock the second and final stage, as well. It’s not necessary for one to make such a purchase; players only need to replay each stage a few times to unlock the next.
The gameplay can be a lot of fun and does have a decent amount of features. There are a good number of enemies with a variety of attacks for players to dodge. Also, players will be able to shoot down enemies to collect bonus items such as repairs for their planes, wingmen to fight alongside them, and weapon upgrades to increase firepower. Additionally, players have a charge meter to fill up giving them the ability to launch a special attack.
Well despite of so may goods, it still gives the same feel of 2D battleship game that we all played in our Video Game(Console), battery consumption is also very high as compared to more graphic intense games although sound effect is good in this game but sound alone can not make you replay this game.
